About Us

Lyons Den Quarter Horses, located in Church Point, Louisiana, is owned and operated by Daniel and Genevieve Lyons. They have four children; Carmen Fahrenthold, Barrett Lyons, Monica Masson, and Bridget Lyons. As the farm grew, so did the family. They now have seven grandchildren that range in age from nine years old to two months old.

Lyons Den Quarter Horses started twenty years ago with a 4-H project for the kids. Since that time, the breeding program has developed with the assistance of their neighbor, Kenneth Venable and Poco Pine Bar Flash.

The mares that have been bred to Flash have produced horses that will surely suit anyone's needs. Our horses will produce outstanding results in a variety of forms: roping, cutting, barral racing, team penning, and pleasure riding.

We have been fortunate that Flash's daughters are making great broodmares. Our first crop of foals off of our two newest young stallions, Pistol Packin Badger (Pistol) and Hes Plenty (Doc) have exceeded our expectations. These foals have great confimation and alot of bone.

As we continue to develop horses at Lyons Den Quarter horses, we strive to follow the bloodlines of Leo, Peppy San Badger, Colonel Freckles, Three Bars (through his son Doc Bar), Poco Bueno and King. We are currently adding Driftwood to the bloodlines.

The greatest joy we have had from raising good, quality Quarter horses is the friends we have made and the satisfied customers that continue to return.

We wish to thank everyone for visiting our site and we invite you to come by the farm for a personal look at the horses.

Don't forget, the 2nd ANNUAL PRODUCTION SALE & FUTURITY is being held in Crowley on
November 1. The Futurity starts at 9:00 am and Sale begins at 1:00 pm. We hope to see you there.
